My academic post at Oxford is part of the McDonald Centre for Theology, Ethics, and Public Life, which is housed in the Faculty of Theology and Religion and generously endowed by the McDonald Agape Foundation. You can find a copy of the Centre’s annual report through the link below.
It’s a source of pride to be associated with a research institute that is so productive in its scholarly output and that, under the direction of its outgoing director, has created an international community marked by friendship and diverse viewpoints. Here’s to more years of community and growth as the Centre enters a new chapter at Oxford.

I have kept myself busy this summer with talks and conferences. It was a pleasure to give the following papers.
- ‘Coffee with an Author: Work as a Calling, by Garrett W. Potts’, Annual Conference, Society for Business Ethics.
- ‘The aims and virtues of critical thinking’, The Awakening Project, Canterbury Institute.
- ‘Response to “Can Work Be Meaningful Under Algorithmic Management? A MacIntyrean Perspective”, by M. Rocchi’, R:ETRO, Saïd Business School.
- ‘Response to “Healthcare Practitioners are Not Providers or Personal Brands”, by W. Kinghorn’, Annual Conference, McDonald Centre, Oxford.
- ‘Response to “Is the business model for running the German Hospital System best practice?”, by N. Oerman’, Annual Conference, McDonald Centre, Oxford.
- (with M. Lee) ‘Religious deviance and psychological medicine in the Second Great Awakening’, Women in Theology Conference, Oxford Faculty of Theology and Religion.
- ‘Moving into industry: career design and development for postgraduates in Theology and Religion’, Oxford Faculty of Theology and Religion.
With sincere thanks to the various organisers and those who made these opportunities possible. You have my deepest gratitude and admiration.

Finally, I’m glad to say that I have four manuscripts under consideration for publication. One is accepted (having been invited), another under internal review (in an edited volume), another undergoing minor revisions (just need to get my act together), and another under initial review (fingers crossed). Topics range from responsible business, philosophy of education, and AI creativity.
Wishing everyone a safe remainder of the summer
